Is the murderer going to be found in time for Tammy to take part in the tournament? I loved the strength of the characters, and the realism to the story. I enjoyed it, and I think that you will too!

I'm trying to get into cozy mysteries and picked this up because it was about archery which sounded different and exciting (and not knitting or baking which is kinda nice for a change). I was hoping for more archery involved plot but it was okay. There were a few hilarious typos. The writing is a bit rushed but the author has a strong voice. I do like books around this length though because I can read and finish one of these in two days without taxing myself.
Archery and Cajun cooking what could be better. When a Cajun girl needs to win a $10k jackpot what could possibly go wrong? There's nothing like Cajan chili to warm the body and warm the belly but murder and cheating can mess up the best contests. Throw in a little romance and life gets interesting.
I really liked this book. There's a lot of things going on in this book.Louisiana Sassy (Tammy) goes to Michigan with her best friend Dixie, to try and win an archery contest. Sassy gets accused of murder before she even reaches Bear Paw.Of course, there's a hot guy,Daniel, who is also in the tournament,who has won it every year ,that Tammy can't seem to quit thinking about.Lots of things happening in this book that makes it so you can't put it down. I read this book one sitting. I just had to find out what was going to happen next. I highly recommend!
This was quite entertaining! I loved how the book began. It was different and, at least for me, set the tone of the entire book. A bit of humor, a mystery, some romance and a whole lot of enjoyment (is that even a word??). The characters were well developed, the storyline unusual and interesting. I've never been to an archery competition, but I think it would be fascinating. The book kept me entertained and wondering "what's next" until the very end. I have read at least one of Ms. Johns titles and have some "to be read". I love her style of writing, her humor and the stories that I have read were funny and kept me turning the pages to "find the culprit". I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a good, clean mystery with a bit of humor and romance mixed in. It was great.
Cozies are my favorite...and I like them in interesting settings. Tammy, the sassy girl from Louisiana, finds herself in the snow of Michigan...out of her element and implicated in a murder. Her Cajun cooking know-how and expertise with a bow and arrow make for a great story. Loved her friend, Dixie, and the southern folks stuck in the snow. Great fun and great read.
This is a new series for Madison Johns and it hooked me right away. I always like curling up with her books because I know I am in for a good time and some unexpected twists and laughs along the way. What I really liked about this one was the two main characters, Tammy and Dixie were likable and relatable, fun girlfriends that you want to hang out with. Also thought the premise was unique. It's not often that you read about archery tournaments. As a foodie, I really liked the cajun cooking aspect, and as a mystery lover, it was just a fun ride, trying to figure out who done it! Highly recommend.
This book was a big disappointment. I like cozies and I read one about every5 or 6 books. This book seemed like it was written by a first time author. I normally wouldn't even have finished it but I thought I would give the author a chance and hope for a good ending. Sigh, it never got better. To my surprise, when I got to the end I found out the author had written quite a few other books and some of them best sellers. Say what? Skip this book and probably the series and spend your time on an established author who can write instead of an author who writes like a middle schooler.
